IRWIN JOINS TRAINOR ASSOCIATES
Cari Irwin, a resident of Newport, RI has joined the staff of Trainor Associates as Assistant Art Director. Irwin, who is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, does graphic design and production work on a variety of printed materials including ads, brochures and flyers. A graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., Irwin’s background includes internships at Philadelphia Magazine and at the world headquarters of American Greetings in Cleveland. Trainor Associates is a fifteen people marketing and communications company located in Providence, RI. Founded in 1994, the company averages $8 million a year in capitalized billings.
COLLETTE TOURS AND IMAGEMAKERS TEAM UP
Collette Tours, Rhode Island’s largest tour operator has chosen ImageMakers, of Providence to convert its extensive travel library of slides into digital files on Kodak Photo CDs. ImageMakers, a Providence photolab and digital services bureau servicing the commercial photo industry for more than 20 years has been providing the Photo CD service since 1995.

ECS CELEBRATES 10 YEARS
Engineered Control Systems, Inc., located in Fall River Industrial Park is celebrating their 10th year in business specializing in systems integration and automation. The idea to start the business came from a series of discussions between company president Ken Potvin and Phil Pelletier, Sr., who owned Gemco Electric. Potvin was looking for new opportunities, and Pelletier saw a need for systems integration for local manufacturers. Pelletier’s son, Phil Jr. had just graduated from Worcester Polytech, and struck up a partnership with Potvin. The rest, as they say, is history. In their first year of business the company generated $700,000 in revenue. Last year they generated over $6 million.
FIELDING RECEIVES ISO 9002
Up on a roof, and ISO certified is the staff of Fielding
Earlier this year, Fielding Manufacturing joined the 4.5 percent of companies nationwide to achieve ISO certification. Earning the 9002 Certification, which is a management system designed to ensure that a company’s products and services meet customer expectations and demands, requires comprehensive documentation and thorough implementation. The company, which is a full design/engineering, rapid prototyping, miniature zinc diecasting and plastic injection-molding company, is led by Steven P. Fielding. A major requirement of ISO 9002 is the demonstration of the entire work force to execute quality instructions as they affect each person’s daily responsibilities. To accomplish this, and ISO Fast Track Team spent countless hours teaching the coaches to train members.
