Suzanne M. Valliere
Suzanne M. Valliere has joined Duffy & Shanley as an assistant account executive in advertising. She helps develop and execute ad campaigns for the Ninety Nine Restaurants & Pubs, the tourism division of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation and The Providence Journal. Formerly with SmartMoney magazine in Boston, Valliere graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in business administration and marketing. She is a Warwick resident.

Debra M. Tucker
Debra M. Tucker has been named regional operations manager for General Electric Capital Assurance Company, the long-term care division of GE Financial Assurance. She will be responsible for all phases of operations management within the Rhode Island and Massachusetts region, including recruiting, and training of new agents. She will also be responsible for the region’s public relations. A resident of Providence, she is completing her degree in marketing.
BANKING
Anthony Rego
Anthony Rego has been appointed assistant vice president of the Bank of Newport. Previously manager of the bank’s Bar-rington office, he graduated from Roger Williams University, and is working toward a master’s in business administration from Johnson & Wales University. Rego has also worked with the bank’s Warren branch as well as with the former Shawmut Bank. He resides in East Providence.
COMMUNICATIONS
Nicholas Beasley
Nicholas Beasley of Providence has been promoted to account executive in the Providence office of GPC/O’Neill & Associates. Formerly account coordinator, Beasley’s new responsibilities will include serving clients in the real estate, education, health care, and high technology fields with communications and government relations needs. Additional responsibilities include coordinating business development and marketing materials and managing the day-to-day operations of the Providence office. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Beasley worked in the communications division of GPC’s Boston office before coming to Rhode Island.
EDUCATION
Diane Maynard
Diane Maynard has been named director of university publications at Johnson & Wales University. She will be responsible for managing the university publications staff and their workload. She will act as a liaison between the publications department and other departments in implementing projects. Prior to joining J & W, Maynard was an account executive with Donnelly & Duncan, Inc., and a media buyer for AdGroup, Inc. A Lincoln resident, she is a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Lawrence Barr
Dr. Lawrence Barr has joined the medical staff of Emory Medical Associates in Attleboro, Mass. After studying medicine for two years at the Faculte Libre de Medicine in France, Dr. Barr completed his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Board certified in medicine, he completed his residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals. Prior to joining this new practice Dr. Barr was a full-time hospital-based internist at Falmouth (Mass.) Hospital, where he also provided coverage for the emergency department and occupational health program.
Mathew R. Trimble
Matthew R. Trimble, administrator of the Saint Elizabeth Home in Providence, was recently awarded professional certification by the American College of Health Care Administrators. A voluntary process by which individuals are recognized for skill within their field, this honor enables Trimble to use the credential CNHA, for “certified nursing home administrator” after his name. This certification must be renewed every five years.

Glenn R. Friedemann
Glenn R. Friedemann has been made a partner in the law firm of Tillinghast Licht Perkins Smith & Cohen, LLP. Admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Friedemann practices in the litigation, science & technology, and hospitals & health care groups. A graduate of Providence College and Suffolk University Law School, he has been with the firm since 1990. He is a resident of East Greenwich, and a member of the Rhode Island and American Bar Associations, and the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association.
MANUFACTURING
Benjamin C. Integlia of North Kingstown has been appointed vice president of the controls division at Taco, Inc. With the company since 1992, he has served as division manager of the controls division, division manager, assistant operations manager and product manager of the commercial pump. His present responsibilities include directing and managing the activities of the controls division, including all buying, planning, manufacturing, engineering and production activities. He attended Union College in New York, and received his master’s in business administration with high distinction from Babson Graduate School of Business.
REAL ESTATE
Paige Taylor
Paige Taylor of Saunderstown was recently appointed regional administrative officer of The DeWolfe Companies. Formerly associated with Yorktown Associates of Warwick, which was acquired by DeWolfe last year, she was the firm’s executive office manager for 14 years. Taylor will continue to operate from the DeWolfe sales center in Warwick, where she will assist the office’s sales and management team. In addition she will be responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to the firm’s Rhode Island region offices. She attended Johnson & Wales University.
John B. Poland
John B. Poland was recently certified by the RealNet Learning Services of McLean, Virginia, as a certified buyer representative. A sales associate with East Greenwich’s Cress & Co., Inc., Poland is now trained in the representation of home purchasers.
