Rick Peister
Rick Peister has joined RDW Group as vice president of account services. Bringing more than 30 years of experience in communication, public affairs, marketing and advertising, with a focus in the health care industry, Peister was formerly executive communications officer and manager of communication and public affairs for Lifespan. Before that, he was the assistant director of communications and public affairs at Rhode Island Hospital. A Warwick resident is the vice president of New England Society for Healthcare Communications.
ARCHITECTURE
Cathleen M. Cawley
Kathleen M. Cawley has joined the staff of The Robinson Green Beretta Corporation as marketing director. Prior to joining RGB she was an independent consultant specializing in marketing and public relations. Her professional background also includes serving as the development officer for pediatrics at Rhode Island Hospital. Cawley will support RGB’s strategic plan to market the firm’s architectural, engineering and interior design services to potential clients throughout New England. Her responsibilities at RGB will also include coordinating their advertising public relations and collateral efforts. She is a graduate of Providence College.

Carol Grant
Carol Grant received the Gold Heart Award from The American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, RI Division this month at an award luncheon at the Westin Hotel. Congresswoman Julia Coarson (D) Indiana was the keynote speaker. Grant’s career at Textron and Nynex established her corporate relationship building efforts which expanded to the community where her work included chairing the state Airport Corporation, charged with building the new T.F. Green. Grant is chairwoman for the National Conference for Community and Justice in RI, and is a member of the board of directors of the Providence Performing Arts Center. She served as chair of the American Heart Walk and assisted in the recruitment and leadership divisions, reaching out to business and community leaders in Rhode Island.
BANKING
Mary E. Leach
Mary E. Leach has been appointed senior vice president of consumer finance at Citizens Bank of Rhode Island and Connecticut. She is responsible for the Home equity and consumer lending services team. With the bank since 1987, Leach, a URI graduate has held various branch manager positions. She was named senior credit manager of consumer finance in 1996 and became director of home equity and consumer lending in 1998. A Mapleville resident, she is co-chair of Citizens’ 1999 United Way campaign.
Barbara MacMullan
Barbara MacMullan has joined Washington Trust as branch manager of the bank’s Block Island office. She joins Washington Trust from National Economic Research Associates, Inc., where she served 16 years as a senior consultant. MacMullan received both a bachelor of science degree and a master’s in economics degree from the University of Rhode Island. A resident of Block Island, she is a trustee of Block Island Land Trust.

Carolyn Crook
Carolyn Crook has joined the Providence marketing communications firm, Trainor Associates as senior account executive. In this position, she provides strategic planning and marketing consulting services for selected clients. Prior to joining Trainor, Crook was executive vice president of the Gorman Group where she supervised planning and marketing for such firms as Cookson America, the Cookson Electronic Division and the MPM Corporation. Most recently, she was a marketing consultant with Rhode Island Monthly Communications. A graduate of Providence College, she earned her MBA from the University of Rhode Island.
Arthur J. Gallagher
EDUCATION
Arthur J. Gallagher has been named vice president of student affairs at Johnson & Wales University. He will be responsible for overseeing the departments of student life, health services, residential life, student conduct, and campus safety and security. Prior to joining J & W, he was associate dean of student life and director of residential life at Brown University, where he was responsible for administrative departments providing programs and services for the University community. He has been involved with student life and residential issues at Brown for more than 24 years. Gallagher received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Judith Zimmerman-Reisch
Judith Zimmerman-Reisch has joined Northeast Engineers & Consultants, Inc., Middletown as a traffic engineer and transportation planner. Zimmerman-Reisch has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Michigan. She has been involved in transportation engineering projects including traffic safety studies for municipalities, transportation and parking studies, highway design, and highway noise analysis. A registered professional engineer in Connecticut and Rhode Island, she has over 20 years of experience as a transportation engineer.
Dr. Helaine R. Wolpert
HEALTHCARE
Dr. Helaine R. Wolpert has joined the medical staff of Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass. She is associate chief pathologist at the department of pathology. Dr. Wolpert earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed her pathology training at Massachusetts General Hospital, including a fellowship in dermatology. She was most recently associate pathologist at Lowell General Hospital. A diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology, she has also published articles in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology and the International Journal of Gynecologic Pathology.

Dionisia Hanson
Dionisia Hanson was recently hired by Easter Seals RI. Her role will be the newly created position of vice president of development and external affairs. Responsible for fund development, philanthropic outreach, and the marketing and communication programs of the organization, Hanson formerly served as director of development at St. Mary Academy-Bay View. Easter Seals is increasing its fundraising efforts and statewide awareness to support expanding programs and services over the next five years. Founded in 1965, the organization serves children and adults with developmental disabilities from all over Rhode Island to achieve the best quality of life and independence.
