Tori Kronhaus
Tori Kronhaus has joined RDW Group as an account executive. A recent honors student graduate of Brown, Kronhaus was an intern at RDW last year. While at Brown she was also news director at WBRU-FM. Kronhaus is a native of Fayetteville, New York.
Martha Sheridan
America House Communications vice president Martha Sheridan is in charge of the new America House branch in Providence. The new office is in the historic Joseph Brown House on South Main Street. Sheridan has been with America House since March, after nearly a decade with Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition to her new duties at the new location, Sheridan supervise the production, overall design and advertising sales of all America House publications, including travel guides. Sheridan has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
Jerry Leveille, Jr.
BANKING
Jerry Leveille, Jr. has been appointed head of consumer lending at Greenwood Credit Union. He will be responsible for all consumer home equity loans and first mortgage loan originations. Previously, he served as vice president of Union Bank in North Providence, overseeing loan originations, and at Bank RI, where he was responsible for retail lending. In addition, Leveille brings twenty years of experience as a consumer loan manager with Old Stone Bank.

Herbert P. Weiss
Herbert P. Weiss, program manager for development projects for the City of Pawtucket has been named by Speaker of the House John B. Harwood to the Permanent Commission on Small Business Advocacy Council. He will serve on the council until June 1, 2002. Weiss has been employed with Pawtucket’s Planning Department for the past six months. He is responsible for overseeing economic development activities provided to more than 300 manufacturing companies with more than 1,000 commercial industries. In addition, it is his job to work closely with prospective business owners who would like to begin or move an operation to the city. Weiss, who is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin has worked as a reporter for The Providence Journal, as an instructor at the University of Rhode Island, as a legislative assistant to Senator Larry Pressler (R-SD), and as an editor or founding editor to numerous publications, including Senior Living.

Dieter Pohl, MD.
Dieter Pohl, MD, has been appointed to the active medical staff at Roger Williams Medical Center. A board certified general surgeon, Dr. Pohl specializes in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery for treatment of reflux disease, hernia repair, gallbladder, colon, spleen and adrenal gland removal and other surgical procedures. He resides in East Greenwich with his wife Nina and son Nicholas.

Patrick J. Darcey
Patrick J. Darcey of Cumberland has joined Darcey & Darcey Insurance in Woonsocket as an account executive. Prior to joining the company he worked at the Paul Rever Insurance Company. Most recently he was a personal lines group underwriter with Metropolitan Auto & Home Insurance in Warwick. A graduate of Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., Darcey’s responsibilities will include helping personal and commercial clients manager their exposure to risk.
Jack Jannick
Jack Jannick has been named a member of the 1999 Executive Council of New York Life Insurance Company. As a member of this council, he attended the NYLIC annual convention in Boca Raton, Fla. The North Attleboro resident has been a New York Life agent since 1995, and is associated with the company’s Waltham, Mass., and Providence offices. Jannick is an active member in the Big Brother program as well as the North Attleboro Chamber of Commerce, and the North Attleboro chapter of Business Network International.

Patrick C. Lynch
Patrick C. Lynch has joined Tillinghast Licht & Semenoff Ltd. in the governmental relations group and the litigations group as an associate. For the last six years he has been a special assistant attorney general in the department of the Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island. For the last three years he has worked in the narcotics and organized crime unit, prosecuting gang-related offenses. Most notably, Lynch successfully handled three major murder trials in Rhode Island Superior Court this year, obtaining five murder convictions involving gang-related offenses. He is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and Brown University. Lynch is a native of Pawtucket, and currently resides in Rumford with his wife and two children.
Jennifer C. Desper

Jennifer C. Desper has recently joined Current Carrier’s NOW Currier central operations/customer support department. Her responsibilities include daily interaction with clients, general office tasks, as well as playing a role in Current Carrier’s marketing program. Desper attended the University of Rhode Island, majoring in business administration. She was previously employed in the Corporate Accounting Group at Old Stone Bank, and at DVM Lab, Inc.

Emily Harrington
Emily Harrington’s Pawtucket and Cranston-based company, Qualified Resources Inc. was one of 500 companies to earn the distinction of “fastest growing private companies” from Inc. magazine. Harrington, a Filipino-born resident of Warwick started her staffing agency six years ago, and it has grown from just under $23,000 in sales the first year to its present $10 million a year. Harrington is the chair of this company, and the mother of two young children. She is active in the RI Philippine Association and is married to Timothy J. Harrington, president of Qualified Resources.
