Eric Wallace
Eric Wallace has been hired to be an account executive for Newport-based Fleming & Roskelly, Inc. A graduate of Elmira College, Wallace received a degree in marketing. He will be responsible for media buying and some account service responsibilities. He was previously employed at Eastern Mountain Sports in the marketing department.

 

 

 

COFFEE

Kimberely A. Cipriano
Kimberly A. Cipriano has been hired as marketing manager for Autocrat, Inc. She will be responsible for marketing and advertising activities, product management, and product brand consistency. She has more than 10 years professional experience, having previously held marketing positions at Tyco International, FMC Corporation, and Dun & Bradstreet. She has a master’s in business administration degree with a concentration in marketing from the University of Rhode Island, and a bachelor’s in economics and English from the University of Vermont.

 

 

Valerie Forti
EDUCATION
Valerie Forti, executive director of the Business Education Roundtable, was recently appointed to a four-year term on the alumni executive council of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. She graduated from the Kennedy School, and moved to Rhode Island to create the Roundtable, which is a statewide organization of Rhode Island businesses working collaboratively to improve public education.

 

 

Linda Lotrideg Levin
Linda Lotridge Levin, an associate professor of journalism at the University of Rhode Island, is one of four individuals who received the Yankee Quill Award last week for “contributing significantly over many years to the quality, prestige and advancement of New England journalism.” With this award she has become a fellow of the Academy of New England Journalists.

 

 

 

HEALTH CARE

Ann Casey
Ann Casey , assistant chief technologist in the diagnostic imaging department at Roger Williams Medical Center has been named employee of the year. One of five employees nominated for the award, she was chosen through a hospital-wide ballot process. Over the last 18 years, Casey has served the hospital in a wide variety of capacities, including special procedures technologist, quality control technologist, student coordinator for radiology students from CCRI, and in her current position. She received her associate’s degree from the Community College of Rhode Island, and a bachelor’s in radiologic technology at Rhode Island College.

 

 

Pamela K. Bartol
Pamela K. Bartol has been appointed audiologist at Sargent Rehabilitation Center. She will provide services to clients in the center’s day school program, Neuro-Rehabilitation Day Treatment Program and audiology outpatient practice. Her role in the two-day treatment programs is that of interdisciplinary team member, providing hearing diagnoses and recommendations as part of clients’ overall treatment plans. Working in a variety of clinical settings, Bartol’s background includes positions at Rhode Island Hospital’s speech/hearing department, St. Joseph’s Hospital pediatric clinic, Harvard/Pilgrim Health Plan’s audiology department as well as ENT practices statewide. She received her bachelor’s degree in English/social studies from the University of Massachusetts and her master’s degree in audiology from the University of Connecticut.

 

 

John H. Gordon
HOUSING
John H. Gordon has been elected president of the National Leased Housing Association. As director of asset management at the Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation, he oversees more than 14,000 affordable apartments and tenant-based rental subsidies. He is a past president of the Greater Rhode Island Institute of Real Estate management, and a Certified Property manager. The Johnson & Wales graduate has more than 30 years of property management experience, has been a member of the NLHA’s board of directors since 1987.

 

 

INSURANCE

Cynthia R. Lund
Cynthia R. Lund, of Darcey & Darcey Insurance Agency in Woonsocket, has received the Certified Professional Insurance Women designation. Out of over one million women in the insurance industry, less than 0.5 percent have achieved this distinction. The designation was awarded her by the National Association of Insurance Women for “tangible evidence of high professional standards, commitment to continuing education, and awareness of insurance issues.” Lund also recently attained the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation and was awarded the John Woods Scholarship for academic achievement.

 

 

Dennis M. Jones
MANUFACTURING
Dennis M. Jones has been named manager of engineering at Matrix, Incorporated of East Providence. Before joining Matrix, he worked as engineering program manager for Nypro, Inc. for fifteen years, where he headed the company’s contact lens molding program. A Lincoln resident, he has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas, and has completed additional professional development education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Fitchburg State College.

 

 

MARKETING

Steve Reed
Steve Reed, a former ad sales manager for Brehm Newspaper Syndicate in southern California, has been hired as account executive for Champagne Lafayette Communications, Inc. The Natick, Massachusetts firm specializes in marketing, design and printing for business, technical and educational customers. Reed will be servicing the Massachusetts and Rhode Island accounts.

 

 

 

MORTGAGING

Dennis Hughes
Dennis Hughes, of Barrington, has been named sales manager for Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts of People’s Mortgage Corporation. Prior to joining the Warwick-based company, he was a sales manager at Norwest Mortgage and Residential Mortgage.

 

 

 

 

NON-PROFIT
Katherine Begin has been appointed executive director of Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island. She joins the organization from Mt. Hope Day Care Center in Providence, where she held was foster care coordinator with ComCare Services, Inc. in Taunton, Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor’s of arts degree in social work at Anna Maria College and her master of arts in child welfare at St. Joseph College.

 

Brian Sear
PRINTING
Brian Sear has returned to Elite Color Group in Providence as director of sales and marketing. He is responsible for overall sales and promotional efforts at the pre-press supplier. He had served as an account representative at Elite from 1991 through 1998. Sear also teaches courses in pre-press at Rhode Island School of Design, and serves on the board of directors of the Ad Club of Southeastern New England.
