WEST WARWICK – Global data-visualization company AstroNova Inc. has announced that Richard S. Warzala, chairman and CEO of Allied Motion Technologies, has joined the AstroNova board of directors.

Warzala has over 40 years of leadership experience in the industrial, aerospace and commercial industries. He joined Allied Motion in 2002, as president and chief operating officer, appointed president and CEO in 2009.  The company, a manufacturer of motion-control components, is headquartered in Amherst, N.Y.

In a press release, AstroNova leadership says Warzala’s wisdom will round out the board and lend a deeper perspective to its decision-making processes.

“Dick brings the technology background and international industry experience that complement the collective knowledge of the board,” said AstroNova President and CEO Greg Woods in a statement. “His corporate governance expertise, business insights and deep understanding of lean-manufacturing principles will be valuable in formulating and guiding the company’s strategy.”

Before joining Allied Motion, Warzala was president of Danaher Corp.’s motion components group and served in various senior positions at American Precision Industries Inc.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board to shape AstroNova’s strategic direction and deliver value for our shareholders,” said Warzala, adding that he was honored to join the board.

“Through organic initiatives and targeted acquisitions, the company has greatly expanded its international presence and created exciting new avenues for growth in both the product-identification and test-and-measurement segments,” he said.

AstroNova’s product-identification segment offers hardware and software so customers can track and mark products, such as QuickLabel, table-top digital color label printing; and TrojanLabel, products for light-production label press and specialty-printer markets. Its test-and-measurement segment includes products that acquire, record and analyze electronic signal data from sensors.
