It gives me great pleasure to announce today that the Almon Co, has taken an equity position in Hospital Associates Inc. of Anaheim California. The Almon Co. is a family holding company which owns all the outstanding stock of the Claflin Co. as well as controlling interest in Claflin Medical Equipment Co, both of Warwick, RI.
We believe that Claflin Medical Equipment and Hospital Associates are the leading dedicated providers of medical equipment and integrated project management services to hospitals, health networks, and other medical providers nationally. It is our intent to build out a national presence in this emerging space through accelerated growth of both firms. The companies will continue to operate as separate businesses, and will be managed by their current management teams, but will cooperate on common growth strategies as they evolve. Both will continue to serve their existing customers as they have been and will continue to grow their already expanding business. The companies will coordinate their activities in new customer opportunities in order to provide the most efficient service to our clients.
It is our specific intent to acknowledge that Claflin Medical Equipment and Hospital Associates are affiliated through partial common ownership. We want our customers, and the industry to be fully aware of this affiliation as we build out our business model cooperatively.
Claflin Medical Equipment (dba) was spun off from Claflin in 1978 and today operates as an independent corporation from a dedicated headquarters on Jefferson Blvd. in Warwick RI. They have branch locations in Indiana and Missouri and continue to expand their network of facilities. CME provides minor medical equipment, project management and logistic services, biomedical repair and maintenance services, and a robust e-commerce offering to thousands of healthcare providers and US Government facilities across the country. At present they employ 52 full time associates.
Hospital Associates (dba) is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise which traces its history back to 1978. They presently operate from their headquarters in Anaheim, CA. The company also specializes in the sale of medical equipment and logistics services to include an array of direct to site services for customers on the west coast and surrounding territory. The company has established a core competence in completing turn-key projects for a number of large regional and national provider networks.
