To the editor:
It is disheartening to read that some people, as well as the Providence Business News, are adamantly against a living wage. Why is it that we have come to expect some people to work full time — and sometimes two and three jobs for a pay that can not come close to covering food, shelter and clothing — or a vehicle, fuel, etc.?

We at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank are seeing the need for our assistance growing even though times have been good, and we attribute much of this growth to working families struggling in low-paying jobs.
