Cox rated No. 1 home phone company in N.E.

ATLANTA – Cox Communications Inc. has been ranked No. 1 in the Northeast for the second straight year, in J.D. Powers and Associates’ Residential Regional Telephone Customer Satisfaction Study. In the Northeast, Cox ranked highest in performance and reliability, billing, company image and customer service.
The company’s home phone service also scored J.D. Power’s top ranking in the Northwest for the fifth consecutive year, and the Southwest for the second straight year.
The report, assessing customer satisfaction with both local and long-distance telephone service, was based on a survey of 11,911 customers nationwide who receive both local and long-distance service from a single provider.
“It is clear that Cox is outperforming the big old telephone companies in satisfying customers,” said David Pugliese, Cox’s vice president of product marketing.
The company began providing telephone service nearly 10 years ago. Its Cox Digital Telephone service now has more than 2.1 million residential and 160,000 business customers nationwide.
Cox Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, is a broadband communications and entertainment company with more than 6 million customers nationwide including about 450,000 basic cable subscribers in New England. Additional information is available at www.cox.com.
