Domestic Bank’s annual golf tournament, held in July at Triggs Memorial Golf Course, benefited The Tomorrow Fund, a charitable organization that provides financial and emotional support to families with children who have cancer. Proceeds raised netted $20,000 for the organization’s youth cancer awareness and support initiatives.
“When a child has cancer, his or her parents must decide who will quit their job. Spending almost half their time in the hospital for treatment and tests, a parent’s full-time job becomes taking care of their sick child,” said Kathleen Connolly, development director for The Tomorrow Fund. “We are grateful to Domestic Bank for their generous contribution and reaching out to families who are coping with a child who has cancer.”
For the past 14 years, Domestic Bank has hosted the tournament to support its community and local charities. This will be the third year that Domestic Bank has supported The Tomorrow Fund.
“A family’s lifestyle, activity and dynamic changes when a child is diagnosed with cancer and we will do anything we can to support them at a time when they most need it,” said Dean T. Holt, president and CEO of Domestic Bank.
More than 70 sponsors and 75 participants attended the one-day event. •
