PROVIDENCE – All 18 of the new luxury suites at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center have been leased, and the Dunk already has a waiting list for future openings, according to the R.I. Convention Center Authority.
Four of the suites had been leased by local companies before the Dunk began marketing the suites two months ago, the authority noted.
The leasing of the rest of the units is “another exiting milestone in the renovation of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center,” David A. Duffy, chairman of the Convention Center Authority, said in a statement late yesterday, and “demonstrates that the state’s investment in the renovation program is on track.”
“I commend the Dunk’s marketing team for its efforts,” he said, “and I congratulate all the new suite holders who will begin enjoying their ‘suite’ view next year.”
The new tenants’ three-year leases begin in January and run $50,000 per year, the authority said. Each unit offers theater-style seating, a wet bar and refrigerator, a lounge area, wireless Internet access and cable TV. Suite holders also will have access to a concierge, dedicated wait staff and catering.
The new amenities are intended to “[allow] us to market the complex to a wider range of audiences,” Duffy noted.
Two additional units were kept back for use as “party suites,” and will be available for rental during sporting events, concerts and other shows, starting next year. For information on party-suite rentals, contact John Colletto, corporate sales manager at the Dunk, at 331-0700, ext. 122.
