PROVIDENCE – Foresight Science & Technology has again landed a contract with the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the technology transfer and commercialization firm announced last week.
Under the contract, which is potentially worth more than $2 million, Foresight will commercialize technologies in NIH’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
“We are happy to have won this competitive [process] both for the renewal of our contract and for the validation it represents of our approach to, abilities for and track record in commercialization of biomedical technologies,” said Norton Kaplan, vice president of operations, Foresight.
Foresight had won a similar contract from NIH last July, also for commercializing technologies funded by the SBIR Program.
NIH is one of 11 federal departments that participate in the SBIR program, which helps to ensure that small, high-tech businesses are included in federal research and development efforts.
