PROVIDENCE – G-Form will provide wearable protection gear to the Boston Red Sox through a three-year partnership as part of its new baseball line.
Until now, the company was mostly known for its protective equipment for soccer players.
G-Form said its products were available to Red Sox players and trainers during spring training and will be made available throughout the 2017 regular season.
“G-Form provides the ultimate impact protection gear across multiple sport categories and the Red Sox will assist us in having a major influence in the game of baseball at all levels,” Bob Burbank, G-Form CEO, said in a statement on Tuesday. “The Red Sox are fully committed to keeping their players safe and in top condition, and we couldn’t be more excited to be partners.”
The G-Form baseball products provided include the Pro Extended Elbow, Pro Wrist Guard, Pro Sliding Shorts, Pro Sternum Shirt and Pro Sternum Shirt with Back.
G-Form said its patented machine washable technology is “changing the face of baseball protection,” as the soft, flexible padding only hardens when struck, “providing superior impact absorption compared to traditional hard-shell guards.”
Red Sox Executive Vice President Troup Parkinson said they are excited to work with G-Form.
“Player safety is important to us and we are pleased to be partners with a cutting-edge, local, New England company to help us with those efforts,” Parkinson said.
The complete baseball line is available at G-form.com, select Dick’s Sporting Goods locations, dickssportinggoods.com, and other baseball retailers.
G-Form protective gear is available in youth, women’s and men’s sizes. Protective equipment is available for BMX, skateboard, snowboard, ski, soccer and professional stunts.
In September, G-Form was named a partner with Ski Utah, a membership organization representing Utah’s alpine ski resorts, and in July, G-Form announced it would provide shin pads to all Finnish professional soccer players through the players’ union.
