PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices rose 1 cent in Rhode Island this week, and 5 cents in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.27 per gallon, which is 13 cents below the national average of $2.40. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 22 cents lower at $2.05.
Prices for unleaded regular in the Ocean State range from $2.12 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.53; premium unleaded, $2.70; and diesel, $2.54.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.25 per gallon, which is 15 cents below the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 24 cents lower at $2.01.
Prices for unleaded regular in the Bay State range from $2.13 to $2.44, with midgrade unleaded at $2.47; premium unleaded, $2.64; and diesel, $2.55.
