PROVIDENCE – The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island declined 1 cent from one week prior to $2.50 per gallon, 7 cents below the national average, according to AAA Northeast Monday.
Regular gas prices ranged 30 cents in Rhode Island, from $2.39 to $2.69 per gallon. Prices in the state were 6 cents higher one year prior.
- Midgrade gas averaged $2.82 per gallon, ranging from $2.66 to $3.08 per gallon.
- Premium gas averaged $3.02 per gallon, ranging from $2.86 to $3.38 per gallon.
- Diesel fuel averaged $3.01 per gallon, ranging from $2.88 to $3.35 per gallon.
“Since the end of October, gasoline demand has mostly decreased as gasoline stocks have mostly increased, paving the way for cheaper gas prices,” said Lloyd Albert, senior vice president of AAA public and government affairs, in a statement. “AAA expects stocks to continue to grow and drive gas prices even cheaper through year-end.”
Massachusetts gas prices also declined 1 cent from last week to $2.50 per gallon. Prices in Massachusetts ranged 73 cents from $2.32 to $3.05 per gallon. The average price of regular gas was 12 cents higher one year prior.
- Midgrade gas averaged $2.83 per gallon, ranging from $2.59 to $3.09 per gallon.
- Premium gas averaged $2.99 per gallon, ranging from $2.76 to $3.39 per gallon.
- Diesel fuel averaged $2.96 per gallon, ranging from $2.69 to $3.25 per gallon.
