Gerald Exley, head of the communications systems division in the Naval Undersea
Warfare Center division, Newport’s submarine electromagnetic systems department,
has been selected as the recipient of the Society of Women Engineers’ Rodney
D. Chipp Memorial Award. The award recognizes an individual who had contributed
significantly to the acceptance and advancement of women in the engineering
field. Exley will be presented with the award during the National SWE Conference
in Birmingham, Ala.
