Training Magazine has ranked the Gilbane Building Co. of Providence 45th on its top 100 list. Gilbane is the only construction management firm on the list.
The award, established in 2000, recognizes companies for excellence in training and development. Gilbane has been ranked in the top 50 for three consecutive years.
Gilbane also received a “best practice” award that recognizes communication skills. Specific examples of this include Gilbane courses such as “Design Phase 4: Value Engineering,” “Managing With The Architect” and a required course for all employees taught by company President William Gilbane Jr. “Building Exceptional Customer Satisfaction.”
Gilbane operates its own internal learning and development center, Gilbane University, which offers a range of instructor-led and online courses.
Gilbane has 1,800 employees. Gilbane has a client satisfaction process that seeks feedback from clients through the lifecycle of its projects. That feedback enables Gilbane to find areas for improvement and focus its training efforts.
