WEST WARWICK – GTECH Holdings Corp. announced that the Nebraska Lottery has selected another vendor as the successful bidder to provide equipment and services for a new online lottery gaming system and associated telecommunications network.
GTECH has been the operator of the Nebraska Lottery’s online games since 1994. The company’s current online contract with the Nebraska Lottery is set to expire on June 30, 2004, but GTECH will remain as the Nebraska Lottery’s instant-ticket products and system supplier through June 30 of next year.
The Nebraska Lottery contributes approximately $6 million to GTECH’s annual revenues, of which $4 million is derived from the online lottery contract.
APC revenues up eight percent in second quarter
WEST KINGSTON – American Power Conversion Corp. reported an 8 percent increase in second-quarter revenues over the same period last year. The revenues were $331.5 million, up from $308.2 million reported in the second quarter 2002.
The second-quarter revenues were up 7 percent over the first quarter of this year.
Net income for the second quarter 2003 was $33.1 million or 17 cents per share, an increase of 12 percent from $29.6 million or 15 cents per share in the second quarter 2002.
“APC remains on extremely strong financial footing, producing healthy profit margins and a solid cash position again this quarter,” said Rodger B. Dowdell Jr., APC’s president and CEO. “Year-over-year revenue growth increased in the second quarter, bolstered by the highest revenue growth rate since the first quarter of 2001. Each of our operating segments posted positive year-over-year growth and we continue to see good acceptance of our compelling InfraStruXure architecture.”
