J. Michael McGilligan of Cumberland has been appointed assistant vice president in the underwriting executive department at Amica Mutual Insurance Company. A graduate of Virginia Tech, McGilligan started with Amica in 1985 as an associate underwriter. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1993, and is an Associate in Management.
