John Murphy has been named president-elect of the American Geriatric Society, where he will hold a three-year position; one as president-elect, one as president and one as chairman of the board of directors.
He will focus on providing high-quality, comprehensive and accessible care for the older population.
Murphy is a physician at Rhode Island Hospital and director of graduate medical education for Lifespan.
