PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices fell 3 cents in Rhode Island, and 4 cents in Massachusetts this week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
“This drop in prices at the pump spells good news for Thanksgiving travelers as they take to the roads – especially with almost nine of every 10 travelers going by car,” Lloyd Albert, senior vice president of public and government affairs for AAA Northeast, said in a statement.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.19 per gallon in the Ocean State, which is 3 cents lower than last week, but 4 cents higher than the national average of $2.15. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was $2.14.
Unleaded regular prices in Rhode Island range from $2.05 to $2.30, with midgrade unleaded at $2.50; premium unleaded, $2.67; and diesel, $2.44.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.09 per gallon, a cent higher than it was a year ago at this time.
Unleaded regular prices in the Bay State range from $1.95 to $2.19, with midgrade unleaded at $2.38; premium unleaded, $2.55; and diesel, $2.38.
