What is the biggest challenge currently facing your industry and how are you responding to it? Nonprofit organizations are under attack at a time when the communities they serve need their services more than ever. My role is to make sure we can keep offering accessible and equitable programming to all girl-identifying and gender-expansive youths, regardless of their backgrounds, experiences and abilities. This involves connecting with partners, funders and other vocal supporters to come together for the youths we serve.
What was your first job? I worked as a page at my town public library for all of high school.
What moment changed your life more than any other? Getting rejected from what I thought were both my dream grad school program and dream job right before graduating college. At 21, I convinced myself that I was a failure because I didn’t have a plan for after graduating. Turns out, it was exactly what I needed to get where I am today.
What is your favorite personal activity/pastime away from the office? Working out with a strong group of mom friends at Burn Boot Camp.
