What is the biggest challenge currently facing your industry and how are you responding to it? The intense competition for talent in the industry for highly skilled professionals, particularly in specialized roles in research support and administration. The competition is especially fierce for certain talent pools, especially in a market where talent shortages, shifting grant funding concerns and employee priorities are driving changes. Our team supports our departments and builds stronger talent pipelines through new initiatives that create innovative recruitment and retention strategies, strengthening Brown as an employer of choice and highlighting the mission-driven nature of the BioMed division and its unique benefits.

What was your first job? Cashier clerk at a Spanish bodega.

What moment changed your life more than any other? Moving to the U.S., especially at a young age. It profoundly shaped my identity and offered great opportunities, as well as a new outlook on life.

What is your favorite personal activity/pastime away from the office? Working out, lifting weights, and gardening when the weather is nice.
