WARWICK – The Kent Center for Human and Organizational Development’s new headquarters, at 2756 Post Road, will officially open on Monday.
The Greenwood location “will provide the center with a solid base of operations” from which to administer its treatment programs across Kent County, the center said in a news release. “The new building is also more accessible for clients than the center’s current location in the Warwick Executive Park, [and offers] better public transportation options.”
Besides the Kent Center’s administrative and fiscal offices, the new facility will be home to several community support programs, youth and family services and the housing office.
The two-story, 30,000-square-foot building was developed by Michael Integlia & Co. at the site of the former McKeever’s IGA Market.
Though the Kent Center initially will lease the new space, it eventually plans to purchase the property, and has launched a $1.6 million capital campaign to raise money for the down payment.
The Kent Center for Human and Organizational Development, founded in 1976, provides mental health and substance-abuse programs as well as extensive support for its clients. To learn more, visit www.TheKentCenter.org.
