MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries unveiled its ultra-compact TracPhone V3 on Feb. 17 at the Miami International Boat Show.
KVH said the TracPhone V3 is the world’s smallest maritime VSAT antenna, measuring 14.5 inches in diameter and weighing 25 pounds.
The V3 has a maximum download speed of 2 Mbps at $0.99 per MB and voice calls for $0.49 per minute.
“We know of many vessels that will benefit from this long-awaited development,” said Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH president and CEO.
“From commercial fishing vessels to yachts to work boats, the TracPhone V3 will bring truly affordable broadband Internet access, e-mail and voice services to mariners who need and want them,” he said while highlighting its compact hardware, and simple installation and operation features.
