What is the biggest challenge currently facing your industry and how are you responding to it? The accounting industry is facing a talent pipeline issue and a reputation challenge, and I feel a personal responsibility to help change that. It’s up to us as leaders to rebuild its appeal. In my role, I help lead our firm’s resource management efforts, focusing on sustainable workloads through smarter scheduling and offshore initiatives that support and retain our domestic team.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I aim to become an equity partner at KLR, trusting that personal success and career growth will follow as I focus on mentorship, innovation and giving back.
What was your first job? It was landscaping for my father’s small business at a young age. I started out as a laborer and, as I grew, eventually took on roles in account management, business development and office operations.
What moment changed your life more than any other? When I was young, my father had a kidney transplant, and I quickly learned how fast life can change. Before his surgery, he told me to be strong and take care of my family – a lesson that’s stayed with me ever since.
