Miriam R. Plitt, marketing director of Coventry Credit Union, has been elected chairperson of the American Heart Association, R.I. Division board of directors. She will serve a two-year term ending in June 2006, leading a board of 33 volunteers who direct the organization’s programs, health initiatives, advocacy, fund-raising and public relations activities. She is a board member of the Pawtucket Armory Association and was recently appointed to the Pawtucket River Commission. She serves on the Capital Campaign Committee for Coventry Health Services Center. Plitt is a graduate of New York University and Rhdoe Island College. She and her husband live in Pawtucket.
