NEWPORT — An estate built in 1931 and modeled after an 18th-century French lodge has sold for $7.3 million, according to Lila Delman Real Estate.
The 9-acre property, which includes a formal garden and a pool, was designed by New York architects Clinton & Russell. It was modeled after La Lanterne, a hunting lodge in France that is a home of the French president.
The Newport estate is called Ker Arvor and is located at 275 Harrison Ave., off Ocean Drive, near the Newport Country Club. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was recently renovated.
The home has nine bedrooms among its 21 rooms and is built over two stories in an H-shaped design, according to Lila Delman, whose agents represented the seller.
The most recent owner was Ker Arvor LLC of Palm Beach, Fla. The identity of the new owner was not immediately available because the deed had not yet been recorded, according to online property records.
