Company: Siemens, Medical Systems, Inc., Electromedical Systems Division, Danvers, Mass., phone: (978) 907-6300
Product one: Infinity SC 9000XL patient monitor – It features a 12.1-inch screen, making it the first large screen, high acuity, portable monitor currently available. Its super bright display shows up to eight waveforms and makes smart use of color and screen messages for at-a-glance comprehension. The SC 9000XL delivers continuous monitoring throughout the patient care process, eliminating the need for separate, low acuity transport monitors. Caregivers can monitor their patients at bedside, or simply pick the unit off its docking station and go to the ICU, the operating room, or the recovery room without changing monitors or cables each time the patient is moved. The monitor’s two hours of battery power ensure the continuity of patient data during transport.
Product two: Infinity Patient Monitoring System, Version VE – latest version of Siemens software enhances the clinical utility of the Infinity systems in the areas of cardiac care, adult and neonatal intensive care, and anesthesia. It also supports Siemens new Infinity EEG Pod, adding a comprehensive range of neurological parameters to its modular monitors.
In addition, the Cardiology Reviewstation’s storage capacity for full-disclosure waveforms has been expanded from 24 to 72 hours and now accommodates 12-lead ECG and hemodynamic waveforms. The CRS’s clinical utility has also increased to include customized set-up modes and printed reports and the export of selected clinical events to a database. Infinity monitors can now also be used to calculate and store drug deliveries and titrations at the patient’s bedside.
Another, customer requested, enhancement of the program allows for a privacy mode. It allows for continuous, silent monitoring behind a blank screen, which allows patients to sleep more easily and protects their privacy during visiting hours.
