Providence students honored by BofA for leadership and community service

PROVIDENCE – Five Providence students are among 230 high school junior and seniors nationwide selected as 2010 Bank of America Student Leaders based on their community service and leadership.
The students attended the bank’s charitable foundation’s weeklong Student Leadership Summit last month in Washington, D.C.
The student leaders also will participate in eight-week nonprofit internships in their communities, financed by Bank of America. They will learn about nonprofit management and leadership.
The Providence student leaders are Oluwaseun Animashaun, a recent Classical High School graduate interning at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence at Fox Point; Dominique VanNorden, a Met Center senior interning at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence at Wanskuck; Alex Enamorado, a Pawtucket resident and Blackstone Academy Charter School senior interning at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence at Fox Point; Julia Harvey, a Lincoln resident and recent La Salle Academy grad interning at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence at Fox Point; and Ismelvin Vargas, a recent Classical High School graduate interning at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence at Wanskuck.
