Raytheon awarded $86 million Navy contract

SUDBURY and ANDOVER, MASS. — Raytheon Co.’s Naval and Maritime Integrated Systems unit has been awarded a $86.1 million contract for continued work on the DDG-51 Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer Program.

The contract will be used for the manufacturing, testing, delivery and integration of additional AEGIS Weapons Systems equipment, Raytheon said. A base contract was originally awarded in December 1999.

The equipment will be installed on certain Arleigh Burke class destroyers. Work will be performed at the company’s Andover and Sudbury, Mass. facilities, and is expected to be completed by November 2003, the company said.
