Raytheon gets OK on Navy project

Raytheon Co. got the go-ahead to start full production of a system that enables ships and
surveillance aircraft to instantly share digital data on enemy
cruise missiles and aircraft, said a Navy spokesman.

The Pentagon’s decision allows the Navy to buy up to 60 sets
of software and hardware, Lieutenant William Speaks said. Earlier
orders for 58 systems were worth $1.2 billion to Raytheon, company
officials said.
