Thomas J. Eccles, rear admiral (select), has been named commander of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC).
He will oversee research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and weapons systems.
Eccles is also deputy commander for undersea warfare and undersea technology at the Naval Sea Systems Command.
He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
