Report: Providence metro HPI increases 7.1 percent in June

PROVIDENCE – The Home Price Index for the Providence metropolitan area increased 7.1 percent year over year in June, according to a report released by Black Knight Financial Technology Solutions LLC Monday.

Nationally, HPI increased 0.9 percent from May, an increase of 6.2 percent year over year in June to $281,000, a record for national HPI.

The company estimated the Providence metro area HPI was $283,000 in June. The Providence metro area increased 1.3 percent from May.

Rhode Island HPI slightly outperformed the Providence metro area, increasing 1.4 percent from May to June, the fifth-largest HPI increase in the nation and the second-most in New England behind Vermont, tied with New Hampshire.
