CRANSTON- The American Association of Motor Vehicles appointed Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles administrator Walter R. “Bud” Craddock to serve as its Region 1 vice president.
Last month, Craddock was sworn into his new position during the regional chapter’s annual meeting in Wilmington, Del.
The AAMVA is a nonprofit organization that develops model programs relating to road safety, administration, and police services. Craddock is now in line to become Region 1 president of the organization in May 2019.
Since June 2015, Craddock served as the DMV Administrator. His responsibilities included insurance regulation, license suspension, vehicle ownership finances, and vehicle safety and inspections.
In October, Craddock will host other regional vehicle administrators from Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada in Rhode Island.
Rhode Island is also scheduled to host the association’s regional conference in May 2020, which is expected to attract 300 attendees. This upcoming event will mark the first time in almost 30 years that the association’s conference was held in the state.
