RIDEM offers $15M in federal disaster relief funding to farmers

THE R.I. DEPARTMENT of Environmental Management will make nearly $15M in disaster relief assistance available to eligible farmers and agricultural producers across the state that were affected by weather events in 2023 and 2024.

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island farmers who were negatively impacted by weather disasters in 2023 and 2024 can now tap into nearly $15 million in federal relief funding to recoup their losses.  Applications are expected to open for eligible farmers and agricultural producers to receive a slice of the $14.94 million in funding in the first week of October,
