PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Public Transit Authority has extended its Flex On Demand service on Aquidneck Island through Dec. 31, the state agency announced Wednesday.   The expanded area in the 231 Flex Zone serves Newport, Middletown and Portsmouth and includes major employers such as Raytheon and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, as well as
