PORTLAND, Maine – Clients treated by friendly and informed customer service reps are less likely to experience financial stress, according to a survey by Toronto-Dominion Bank Group. The survey of 1,500 of TD Bank’s customers also found knowledgeable advice a key factor in being satisfied with the banking relationship.
Respondents who reported being unhappy with banking experience were found to have high, or even overwhelming, financial stress.
Most people who responded to the survey had savings as their top financial goal. Other financial goals include paying off debt and planning for retirement.
Interactions with banks were also reviewed. And despite the emphasis on mobile banking, the survey found 73 percent of transactions take place in person at a branch, while 30 percent are handled over the phone and 13 percent over the Internet.
