PROVIDENCE – Technology association Tech Collective has expanded its board of directors to 19 members.
Board Chairman Tim Hebert says more perspectives and guidance in areas such as growth, programming and training opportunities, and the membership experience will better address industry challenges.
“The shortage of qualified [information technology] talent has hit an all-time high with more than 3,000 open IT jobs within the state,” said Hebert, CEO of Trilix. “The Tech Collective is working closely with [businesses] to create the programs to rapidly expand the state’s technology workforce. … Our board is representative of the IT industry of today and tomorrow and has rich experience in technology innovation, workforce development and community education.”
The board will focus on developing future technology workers with skills and knowledge; deliver demand-driven workforce development with a culture of continuous learning; and foster awareness about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics careers for pre-K-12 students, according to Tech Collective.
In addition to Hebert, the board is headed up by Vice Chairman Joe Devine, partner and chief technology officer of Bridge Technical Talent; Treasurer Sandy Ross, partner at Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd.; and Secretary Lisa Shorr, owner of Secure Futures.
