PROVIDENCE – Two Compassion Party candidates for Rhode Island offices were arrested for possession of cannabis Thursday morning.
Gubernatorial candidate Anne H. Armstrong and Attorney General candidate Alan L. Gordon, both members of the Compassion Party, were arrested for possession of 48 pounds of marijuana and for the contribution to the delinquency of a minor, the R.I. State Police announced Thursday.
The RISP said it obtained a search warrant after complaints and an investigation of the smell of marijuana emanating from the property at 99 Hudson Road in West Greenwich. A 15-year-old was in the house at the time of the search warrant, according to RISP.
Armstrong and Gordon were each charged with possession of marijuana in excess of 5 kilograms, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
