PAWTUCKET – A portion of the profits from a new light-beer offering from Foolproof Brewing Co. known as Ocean State Lager will benefit student-led aquaculture and fisheries research at the University of Rhode Island.
“It’s a great feeling to see Ocean State Lager finally come to fruition, particularly knowing that we’re giving something back to our home state and the local aquaculture community in the process,” said Nick Garrison, Foolproof president and founder.
Ocean State Lager, a beer brewed with a German-style yeast strain as well as American malt and hops, is available in draft and 16-ounce cans and is being distributed throughout New England and New Jersey.
Launched in January 2013, Foolproof is a craft brewery based in Pawtucket and distributes products statewide as well as in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey and northern Virginia.
