U.S. retail sales for the
week ended August 3 rose 0.1 percent from the previous week,
according to the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UBSW weekly sales
report.
July sales are expected to be up about 3.0 percent,
according to the report.
Same-store sales are considered the best measure of a
retailer’s results because they exclude the effect of store
openings and closings in the past year.
