Kimberly Crawley has been named sales manager at Waterman Grille. Before joining Waterman Grille, Crawley worked at Save The Bay, first as a development events coordinator and then as events manager. Before Save The Bay, she had been a tourism assistant at the Providence Tourism Council. Crawley has a B.A. in psychology with a minor in business studies from Providence College.

PBN: At Save The Bay you organized, managed and executed all fundraising events, secured sponsorship support and developed budgets. How will the skills you applied at Save The Bay be transferred to Waterman Grille?
CRAWLEY: The event-management skills that I have developed through organizing all aspects of large fundraising events will provide a solid background of experience to make sure every detail is addressed for the clients of Waterman Grille. Additionally, my experience with securing sponsorship support and maintaining relationships with corporate and individual donors will provide an ability to develop client relationships. I’ll be able to ensure comfort for clients at Waterman Grille and make sure that their important day will be a memorable occasion.

PBN: You were elected president of the Rhode Island chapter of the International Special Events Society. What does the society do?
CRAWLEY: The mission of the International Special Events Society (ISES) is to educate, advance and promote the special-events industry and its network of professionals along with related industries. Membership brings together professionals from a variety of disciplines. ISES provides a solid peer network and valuable resources.

PBN: What are some upcoming events you are looking forward to, either because you are involved or because you are excited to go?
CRAWLEY: I am excited to go to the first wine dinner at Trio, Waterman Grille’s sister property in Narragansett, on Sept. 26, featuring Mirrasou Winery and McWilliam’s Winery. We also have a couple of ISES events coming up. The first is [an event for networking] on Sept. 24 on the Majestic Yacht. The boat will depart from Bowen’s Wharf and the evening will be a [reception for networking] as the yacht cruises Narragansett Bay. The second is the Second Annual ISES RI Halloween Bash, on Oct. 18, an exciting fundraising event which includes the participation of a variety of sponsors who are creating a festive Halloween environment at Belcourt Castle in Newport. •
