PROVIDENCE – Mackenzie Richards, a senior financial consultant with Bank Rhode Island, has been appointed to Financial Planning Association of Rhode Island’s board of directors.
A nonprofit corporation, the Financial Planning Association is dedicated to advancing the financial planning profession and serving as a financial planning resource for the public and planners in the Ocean State.
Richards will lead the association’s efforts to build a “NexGen” community, focused on supporting aspiring “early career” planners through study groups, sharing best practices and facilitating networking with industry leaders.
“It is both an honor and a privilege to join the FPI-RI board of directors and serve my fellow financial professionals,” Richards said in a statement announcing his appointment.
“In particular,” he said, “I am excited at the opportunity to create a NexGen community here in Rhode Island to help our peers continuing to grow as professionals learn from those who have come before us, which in turn further strengthens our service to our local clients.”
Richards joined BankRI early last year. Previously, he was a financial adviser with Citizens Bank. He also held positions with Wells Fargo Advisors and Stratos Wealth Partners. He lives in North Kingstown and is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, deployed to Iraq in 2008 and to Afghanistan in 2011.
