PROVIDENCE – A five-year accreditation extension has been awarded to Providence College’s School of Business Tuesday by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, per a statement by the school.
This is the second accreditation for the PCSB, which was established in 2007 and first accredited in July 2012.
Dean Sylvia Maxfield thanked the faculty and staff involved in crafting the successful bid for renewed accreditation, adding in a statement: “Re-accreditation validates the Providence College School of Business’s growing reputation and commitment to continuous improvement.”
She added that in the five years since the AACSB’s previous visit to the Providence school’s campus, PCSB has “built on our strong foundation by establishing new programs and growing others, hiring more than a dozen new faculty members, and taking steps to become increasingly more rigorous and selective.”
Maxfield also cited the new Arthur F. Patricia Ryan Center for Business Studies as a factor in the successful campaign for renewal.
AACSB provides internationally recognized, specialized accreditation for business and accounting programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level.
