PROVIDENCE – The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island remained unchanged this week at $2.84 per gallon, 5 cents below the national average and 24 cents higher than this time last year, according to AAA Northeast Monday.
Prices ranged 40 cents, from a low of $2.69 per gallon to a high of $3.09 per gallon.
“Consumer gasoline demand across the country has declined for a third week,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast senior vice president of public and government affairs, in a statement. “Gas prices may be signaling that they are taking a turn toward slowly decreasing.”
- The average price of midgrade gas was $3.14 this week, ranging from $2.99 to $3.39 per gallon
- Premium gas prices averaged $3.32 this week, ranging from $3.19 to $3.49 per gallon
- The price of diesel fuel was $3.24 this week, ranging from $3.19 to $3.39 per gallon
The average price of regular gas in Massachusetts also remained unchanged at $2.84 per gallon this week, 5 cents below the national average and 33 cents higher than this time last year.
Prices ranged 41 cents this week, from $2.68 per gallon to $3.09 per gallon.
- Midgrade gas prices averaged $3.10 this week, ranging from $2.89 to $3.29 per gallon
- Premium gas prices averaged $3.27 this week, ranging from $3.03 to $3.49 per gallon
- The price of diesel fuel averaged $3.23 this week, ranging from $3.09 to $3.39 per gallon
