Patrick nominates three N.B. residents to bench

BOSTON – Gov. Deval L. Patrick this month announced the judicial nominations of three New Bedford litigators: Renee P. Dupuis and Raymond P. Veary Jr., as associate justices of the Mass. Superior Court, and Kevin J. Finnerty as associate justice of the Mass. District Court.
Dupuis is currently chief of the Criminal Bureau of the Attorney General’s Office. She served for 21 years in the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, where she was first assistant, chief trial counsel and chief of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit. She is slated to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court created by the retirement of David A. McLaughlin.
Veary, a veteran prosecutor with 24 years of service in the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, maintained a private civil and criminal practice in New Bedford.
Finnerty has maintained a private practice in New Bedford for 24 years. He has served as Bristol County treasurer since 2001. &#8226
