More than 130 financial service professionals participated in the fifth annual Brokers’ Service Marketing Group charity golf tournament to raise money for and awareness of Amos House in Providence and Child & Family Services in Newport.
Held at the Rhode Island Country Club, the all-day event raised $70,000, 75 percent more than last year.
“This year’s event was a huge success and help[ed] us celebrate our 35th year in business,” commented David B. Lea Jr., managing partner and chairman of Brokers’ Service Marketing Group. “We were thrilled to able to raise $70,000 and write checks for $35,000 each for two great Rhode Island charities.”
Miriam Kimball, development director at Amos House, noted that the tournament was “by far the largest event hosted by a private company that we’ve benefited from to date.”
Peter DiBari, President and CEO of Child & Family Services, said the proceeds from the event would help the agency sustain a “vital” supportive-housing program for women and children. •
