14 retailers join Citizens’ rewards program

PROVIDENCE – The launch of the Citizens Bank and Charter One Bank Merchant Network was announced this week by parent Citizens Financial Group Inc. The new network includes rewards partnerships with 14 retailers.

Customers who participate in either bank’s existing rewards program will earn up to 20 Everyday Points per dollar spent when they use their bank debit card to make in-store, online or catalog purchases at the participating retailers.

The participating retailers – Dunkin’ Donuts, Eddie Bauer, FAO Schwartz, Hickory Farms, Hollywood Video, Legal Seafoods, Linens ’n’ Things, Macy’s, Mrs. Fields, Restoration Hardware, Sharper Image, Timberland, Yankee Candle and 1-800-Flowers – have nearly 11,000 bricks-and-mortar locations.

Points now may be redeemed for bank products, including $25, $50 or $100 deposits into a money market, savings or individual retirement account; a 0.2-percent rate increase for a certificate of deposit; or a 0.25 percent rate reduction for a home equity loan or line of credit. They also may be used to obtain catalog merchandise, gift cards or travel vouchers, or to make a charitable donation.
