NEWPORT – Salve Regina University’s Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy received a $200,000 grant from the Carnegie Corp. of New York to support the Rochambeau Dialogue over a period of two years, Salve Regina announced Thursday.
The dialogue, which was designed to strengthen defense collaboration between the United States and France, is an annual meeting about defense held over two days between current and former French and American officials.

The session will be led by Iskander Rehman, a senior fellow at the Pell Center, and partner with the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS), a leading French think-tank.
“At a time of transatlantic turmoil, initiatives such as these take on a whole new importance,” Rehman said. “It is our hope that the Rochambeau Dialogue will strengthen the fraternal bond between both republics, and raise awareness among French and American audiences of the enduring value of the alliance.”
